The London Stock Exchange Group (‘LSEG’) recently received the Global Payroll Association’s ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Payroll Innovation category, at their awards ceremony in Warsaw, Poland.

This is formal acknowledgement of the significance of the pioneering AI-powered payroll variance investigation agent designed and built jointly with Group Elephant. The agent-based utility is an intelligent, vendor-agnostic approach that identifies discrepancies and explains payroll discrepancy causes, across any payroll platform. The agent in conceptual form has been proven capable of delivering significant efficiency gains, equivalent to saving days of analyst time per country, per month.

‘Unlike traditional fixed-code systems, AI agents adapt dynamically to unforeseen scenarios’, said Group Elephant’s Michael de Greef. ‘Compellingly, this agent is system-agnostic, capable of processing data from any payroll software’, he added.

According to de Greef, this is merely a first step towards deploying a fleet of AI payroll agents for offloading of tasks covering testing, compliance verification, and data accuracy checking and correction, with employee payroll query handling capability.
