Group Elephant in Australia streamlines accounts payable operations for Leibler Yavneh College.
Leibler Yavneh College (LYC), one of Melbourne’s leading independent schools, processes thousands of payables invoices annually across its teaching and administrative functions. Hitherto using a heavily manual, email-based method, they engaged a specialist Group Elephant division in Australia to build and deploy a new system based on AI-powered data extraction.
AI-powered utilities now automatically extract supplier details, invoice dates and amounts, and tax information from supplier invoices. Known vendors are matched and routed automatically, while new vendors are separated for review and approval, and expense account coding. Processing effort and times have reduced dramatically, while controls have been fortified. This project is on track to comfortably beat its projected payback period, and LYC executives are now exploring further AI-based automation opportunities for other functions.
‘When we first considered AI-based automation opportunities we did so with a degree of skepticism,’ said LYC’s CFO, Dan Solomon. ‘Group Elephant has powerfully demonstrated the potential for achieving significant efficiency gains’ he added.
